Boiled Peanut Salad (Boiled Masala Peanut Chat)
This Healthy Boiled Peanut Salad (Boiled Masala Palli Chat) is a popular South Indian street food that is commonly sold on beaches. It's a delicious, healthy snack, relatively high in protein and oil -free that can be prepared in less time. This healthy,delicious appetizing snack is simple and easy chat recipe made with minimal ingredients like boiled peanuts, spices and finely chopped veggies. It is an ideal and healthy snack to be served any time for almost everyone including kids and adults. Let's check the ingredients and procedure to prepare this snack "Boiled Peanut Salad" (masala palli chat).
Ingredients:1 cup of Peanuts: (You need raw peanuts with or without the skin)
2 medium size Onions ( finely chopped)
2 medium size Tomatoes
5-6 Green Chilies (finely chopped)
1small cup of Coriander leaves (finely chopped)
1 tea spoon of lemon juice
1 Spoon of Chat Masala
1/4 Spoon of Red Chilli Powder
salt as needed
This is a highly customizable recipe where you can add and delete ingredients according to your convince. Follow these steps to make this salad.
Procedure :
Take 1 cup of raw Peanuts in a big bowl , add 2-3 cups of water to it and soak for 1 hour.
After 1 hour, wash the Peanuts under running fresh tap water 2 to 3 times.
Then shift this washed peanuts to a pressure cooker , add enough water and 1/4 spoon of Salt to cook the Peanuts(Pallilu). You can pressure cook for 10 mins in high flame (at least 4-5 whistles).
If pressure cooked, wait for the pressure to naturally leave the cooker.
Meantime, you can finely chop onions, tomatoes, green chilies, coriander leaves , make it ready to mix with boiled peanuts.
Once the peanuts are cooked, itās time to prepare the salad. Drain the water from pressure cooker.
Now take a big bowl, add boiled Peanuts, finely chopped onions, tomatoes, green chilies, salt as required only (taste the salad before adding salt to it.), chat masala, 1/4 spoon or less of red chilli powder (as per your spice levels). Mix thoroughly with your hand or spoon.
Now squeeze lemon juice over this mixture and garnish it with finely chopped coriander leaves.
Boiled Peanut Salad is ready to serve now, serve it in a serving bowl.
