Devi Navratri Special - Maha Gowri

Navratri Special: Maha Gowri
Here in our Colony temple, we worshipped Goddess Gowri on the 5th day of Navratri. Goddess Gowri - the form of Sowbhagyam as per Vedic Sastra. In South India, during Marriage, every bride does perform Mangala Gowri Pooja with Kumkum before Marriage starts. Newly wedded Bride do perform "Sravana Mangala Gowri Vrathalu" for five years and do Udyapan after 5years. Mangala Gowri Pooja in Sravana Masam usually performs on Tuesdays for happy marital life and for a Long and healthy life to the Husband.

In Dussehra 9 days, Goddess Durga is worshipped in the form of Goddess Gowri on the 5th day of Navratri. On that day, every woman should wake up early in the morning and take head bath before sunrise and dress up traditionally with colourful bangles, traditional pattu sarees, jewellery and flowers on the head and especially with Kumkum on forehead and Pasupu (Haldi paste) to her feet. They do chant Sahasranamavali by offering different colour flowers, kumkum and colourful bangles to Matha Gowri to seek the blessings of Goddess Gowri, seeking happy marital life and longevity to Husband, and offer Pulihora, RavaKesari, Vadapappu, Panakam as Prasadam.

Yesterday night we did perform Suvasini Pooja to Matha Gowri with bangles and Kumkum in our colony temple.
